Review of Learning to Drive (2014) by Pat H — 06 Sep 2015
There's this very quaint little movie theater in Seattle that's usually empty. They play artsy movies that no one watches. Except when you go on weekends to the matinee. All the old people show up in droves and they make the experience unbearably slow.
Of course this is the kind of movie old timers love. It's full of love, people think and there's a certain air of sophistication. I know my mother would totally love this thing.
Now, as far as movies goes this is straight up forgettable. It's not a bad movie but it's certainly not great. Also, I think we've seen Sir Ben play multiple versions of Indians and I wonder if they could not find and actual Sikh.
Learning to drive is a superficial story that has some funny moments, a few tender ones and it's reasonably entertaining.
Definitely watch if you're old.
