Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Luke J — 24 Jan 2013
It's difficult to say much about this film that hasn't been said a thousand times before. It's a film that excels on multiple levels ... as an epic adventure, as a biography of a difficult subject, and as mainstream film that uses stunning visuals to tell much of its story.
(It also seems to have ruined David Lean's career since all of his subsequent films attempt to work on the same epic scale and all fail to one degree or another.) The Blu-Ray of this film is a revelation.
I have seen this film on VHS, DVD and in the theater back in the 1980s and I have never seen it look this amazing.
