Review of Lawless (2012) by Ellis W — 17 Jan 2013

Lawless is not without its faults, the scenario and plot line just are not strong enough to be labelled an 'epic'. Yet it nearly achieves it purely by the strength of the performances of the main cast, with Shia LaBeouf giving the finest performance of his career, saving himself from the dismal and annoying character in the Transformers series.

This being said, the film is to heavily reliant on the cast and its filming, almost as though it knows it can't achieve the status that it strains for with the story, and falls back on the cast and cinematography.
