Review of L'Avventura (1960) by Nathan P — 10 Aug 2008
Michelangelo Antonioni tells the story of the lives of drifters - wealthy men and women who cannot seem to grasp onto anything, including each other. What we expect is a resolution to all the stories - the disappearance of Anna, the tangled affair between Claudia and Sandro - yet Antonioni finds no need to resolve these problems.
They are simply superficial people living in a superficial world.
