Review of Last Shift (2014) by Thehoard . — 07 Nov 2015
Saw this on netflix and didn't know what to expect. The creature on the cover art looked creepy but could've easily been one of those crappy low budget films you see at Walmart in the bargain bin or on netflix that somehow get made.
This isn't one of those. This film had some great creepy and disturbing moments. With the exception of a moment or two, you can tell the writer and director went that extra mile to make sure the film wasn't filled with cliche "creepy" images and scenes or pointless jump scares.
Some great mind fucks and terrifying things are unleashed on the female lead in the film. It hardly ever lets up and when you think it does, it hits you with something that keeps the suspense and horror chugging along.
Great acting from the lead who was pretty much on her own through out the film. Very likable character. They thought of great ways to keep this character in this situation without you as a viewer thinking, "Why doesn't she just get the fuck outta there?" So, kudos to them for making it rational and logical.
Overall, good film. Highly recommend it. It's stuff like this that should get theatrical releases and not dogshit like Quija or whatever. But that's a whole other topic. Watch it!
