Review of Last Night (1998) by Jenny G — 20 Jan 2009
This was an unexpectedly interesting and enjoyable movie. I can't even remember why I DVRed this one but am very glad I did.
I have to admit the movie started out so slow for me I almost bailed after the first 10-15 minutes. I was more focused on answering the questions about why the world was going to end and why the viewer wasn't getting much information about it.
I quickly realized the movie wasn't about that, it was about people and how they would spend their last 6 hours on the planet. It kind of reminded me of the scene in Titanic where people chose different ways to spend their last few moments as the ship was going down.
This had very solid acting for a movie that most people have probably never heard of.
As the movie went on I kept hoping to myself it wouldn't end a certain way. Without giving away the ending it did end the way I did not want it to end. Does this give it away? I hope not.
I recommend this movie, all I would say is stay with it past the first 15 minutes.
