Review of Last Man Standing (1995) by Steven B — 15 Mar 2008
I can imagine the producers watching the dailies, jizzing in their Armani over the slick, sunset-drenched, gun-blazing mayhem (a 9mm bullet sends a dude LITERALLY 14 feet in the air). Walter Hill's visuals leak testosterone, but it makes for slippery cutting in the editing suite: the pace herky-jerks itself into a monotonous drone, unaided by Willis' inaudible whisper through bow-tie lips.
Adapted from Kurosawa (!!!) by NRA's with ADD. For Walken-fetishists only.
