Review of Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989) by Tristan F — 21 Nov 2008
In this film, Brooklyn resembles the way Kubrick represented Vietnam in Full Metal Jacket. Dark, foreboding streets. Fires in tin drums. Conflict on every corner. A brutal film where you observe several characters have their hopes and desires crushed by their surroundings.
The ugly climax reminds me that Jennifer Jason Leigh is a brave and underrated actor.
