Hazily nightmarish and raw, "Last Exit to Brooklyn" offers a glimpse into a very fascinating cinematic milieu filled with detached, mysterious and yet admirably realistic characters. A bit difficult to get one's grip around, but very rewarding in terms of style and ideas.
