Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Jesse T — 14 Dec 2009
A solid thriller; Jackson is pitch perfect as the "psycho cop" but what the movie goes well is that he isn't just a sketch of a crazy man; depth is given to his character, and it plays a key role in the ending! I loved how the movie really dived into the complex and uncomfortable issues of race and police action, even if the endgame proved to be a bit conventional and already done.
This conventional feel is the movie's one downfall; it builds nicely but the series of events leading to the finale have a "screenwriter's" feel to them.
