Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Troy F — 15 Feb 2010
I really don't know what to say about Lakeview Terrace. It's like an overblown satire of the attitudes towards inter-racial sterotypes, but it becomes too much of a joke when we get the whole "battle of the neighbours" ordeal that the film interjects.
Samuel L. Jackson does a great job and he was incredibly disturbed at times, but the film like I said goes too far. It's not very subtle either, and when it gets to the climax you'd have thought that subtlety would have worked brilliantly.
It's not a good film, and although the turmoil at times can be interesting, it's not a good film.
