Review of Lakeview Terrace (2008) by Myke T — 20 Apr 2010
Ahh Samuel L. Who doesn't love him yelling? His neighbors duh! All jokes aside, this movie is a good 'hey see what's on HBO tonight' kinda flick. Not so much the rush to the movie store and snag your copy.
The story is well written, and the character Samuel L. plays DEFINITELY gets under my skin throughout the entire movie, which in my book he went above and beyond to make his roll punch through.
The upside, Patrick Wilson isn't getting his rocks off to underage teenagers (like the story in Hard Candy). The downside, Lakeview Terrace didn't keep me on the edge of my seat. It still pulled me in enough to get me angry, as I said before, which makes the film at least worth while. A true solid film, but nothing over the top and the 'oooOOOooo...ahhhhh' factor really isn't there, but if you see it at Wal-Mart for $5 or on demand, give it a good looking at ;)it'll be a good $5 subway wish they had!
