Review of Lake Mungo (2009) by Kyle E — 05 Jan 2010
A well made snore-fest, "Lake Mungo" offers up no real legit scares. The film is shot in a mockumentary style that gave me hope of it being a real documentary, but alas in a year of the mockumentary (see Paranormal Activity), there's just been better and more frightening films.
I found the double life that the main character, sixteen year old Alice Palmer to be quite fascinating and intriguing, but the supernatural elements of this film are flat out lame. Look, you want a better scare, check out Paranormal Activity, or perhaps wait for the Americanized remake of this film due out in 2011.
