Review of Lake Mungo (2009) by Juliano R — 08 Apr 2011
Great australian movie. A "mockumentary" about a family in grief with the loss of their daughter.
This flick might look as a rip-off of eldest movies such as blair witch project, cloverfiled, and other. But don't let this turn you off, besides the similarities, this faux-documentary has a refreshingly good plot. I'm still trying to convince myself that it wasn't a true story.
What a liked the most was the fact that Alice (the daughter who died drowned in a dam) felt that she was going to die and she, in fact , saw her own dead, drowned body at this lake mungo during a school camp, but she didn't know that it was, actually, her own decay body, but just a ghost (what a thought it was awesome). The movie still catches your attention because you end up finding out that Alice wasn't such a daddy's little girl. She held some dirty secrets. Great A+ movie!!!
