For movies based on Raymond Chandler works, I'd prefer Altman's THE LONG GOODBYE (1973).
The subjective view camera angle was unique, but not very practical. However, it was good fun.
The film short SO YOU WANT TO BE A DETECTIVE (1948) by Richard L. Bare spoofed the subjective view camera angle seen here.
