If there is such a thing in the world as a "perfect movie," Lady Bird is it. A flawless masterpiece from beginning to end. Those who may not personally identify with Lady Bird's story can still commiserate with the universal human desire to escape the doldrums of reality, thirsting for something greater, and then being knocked back to the real world upon discovery that something doesn't exist.
Deserves to win Best Picture, Best Director (Great Gerwig), and Best Supporting Actress (Laurie Metcalf) Oscars.
