Review of Lady Bird (2017) by Chumahan — 20 Oct 2018
Loserish but charming Sax-town girl has troubled relationship with her workaholic mother but awesome relationship with sad-sack father. This movie was serviceable but something was missing. At times it felt episodic.
Nice moments of harmless teenage terrors and some of interaction with mom. However, neither two stories every really came together or did I get enough of each one to feel complete. I also don't believe she would throw herself out of a moving car just because her mom is nagging.
That was super extreme right off the bat. Good but not great. Nice moments. But, do I care? Maybe I wanted to understand a little more between the daughter and mother, to make the moment of the end where the daughter finally confesses her love to be more meaningful.
