Review of Lady and the Tramp (1955) by Brandon C — 11 Aug 2016
Who doesn't love dogs? The animation here is really spectacular, with an astounding variety of dog breeds, designed and presented perfectly. The various dog characters are topped off with some of the best voice acting of this era, with accents and personalities that make the characters instantly recognizable.
Though the accents may border the stereotype, for the most part, the characters complete this charming story. Frankly more romantic than Cinderella and Snow White combined, Walt Disney originally thought the famous "Bella Notte" and spaghetti scene would be considered silly and wanted to pull it from the film.
However, the combination of some believable characters and wonderful animation makes the script truly come to life (animators actually studied different breeds of dogs for inspiration in the design of the film).
