I can see what they were trying to do with the film. Nice twist for a love-story. It had its moments that make it memorable in those regards, and the actors did a great job with what they were given. Sadly, the film just never climaxed for me.

Great actors like Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin deserved better. But they were fantastic and added depth to the characters as best as they could. I don't know if its the director, writers, or editors who caused the film to not be as great as it could have been.

I won't comment on the ending as not to spoil anything, but aside from feeling a bit rushed, it just didn't really fit with the tone of the story for me.
