Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Bf E — 03 Jun 2010
Fascinating biopic about the life of French songbird Edith Piaf who was discovered as a poor street singer in Belleville and rose to national and international fame. What's interesting about this movie aside from the facts of her relatively short life is the story is not told chronologically.
It alternates between flashbacks and flashforwards from her youth, later years and middle years. Sometimes it's confusing but it's so well acted and beautifully filmed it's never boring.
