This is a beautiful, rich, sad, complex story of a woman obsessed with singing - all she is, she is in song. Maybe artists have something wrong with them that makes them want to perform - this movie shows the unbelievable talent and misery of Edith Piaf, the woman who defined the chanteuse in modern France.
