Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Giorgos K — 02 Feb 2011
The biography one of the biggest voices of our century:EDITH PIAF.
The little sparrow(as she was called) that could not fit the rules was so far ahead from its time. Her boundless talent managed to capture everyone's attention regarding her art and her personal life.
A life that could give her the happiness that she wished according to her shocking skills but it sadly filled her with pain and loneliness by losing one by one the reasons she lived for. However singing on the stage was her entire life untill her tragic end ''WITHOUT REGRETTING FOR ANYTHING''as her song(non je regret rein)says.
''La vie en Rose'' has two unbeatable supports. The aura of Piaf's voice and above all the amazing Marrion Cottilard's interpretation..
From the time that Piaf sings for her living in the Paris streets,to her development into a famous person and artist until the multiple health beatings and the end of her life Cottilard makes you wonder if we are watching the same actress. She is simply superb.
A great movie at all levels with deeply human emotions..
