Review of La Vie en Rose (2007) by Pietro T — 11 Dec 2012
Spectacle drowning the character's humanity for spectacle's sake, and it's a horrendously lifeless experience until Cotillard --who rises above all the chaos and above the material she is given-- provides you with moments of emotional truth.
Until then, all we see is interpretations of emotions instead of emotions, and once the film was over I had no idea who this woman was, or what made her special, or why I should care.
