Review of La Strada (1954) by Garrett M — 27 Feb 2011
Powerful performances and a graceful score help La Strada achieve something special. By the end of its story, the film has the audience so emotionally involved that one might cry with Anthony Quinn as he kneels in agony on the beach.
There isn't anything attractive about the story or the characters, but the brutal simplicity is quite captivating. Fellini has accomplished a worthy masterpiece that effectively roominates on the topics of love and desperation.
