Review of L.A. Story (1991) by Johanna M — 08 Jul 2008
I recently saw this movie again after not having seen it in years! Still a great movie that takes great stabs at LA (which I understand better now that I live here) and is a great romantic comedy with husband and wife Steve Martin and Victoria Tennant.
Funny, sweet, philosophical, but not sappy and never takes itself too seriously. Plus it has that beautiful line from Steve Martin when he asks Victoria Tennant's character to stay: "All I know is, on the day your plane was to leave, if I had the power, I would turn the winds around, I would roll in the fog, I would bring in storms, I would change the polarity of the earth so compasses couldn't work, so your plane couldn't take off.
.." And don't forget the great soundtrack from Enya!
