Review of L.A. Story (1991) by Matt M — 01 Aug 2013
Wow, what a little treasure. A film that is a typical late 80's throwaway comedy...but is it? There is a deeper story, about love, the kind of love that most of us only dream about, that few of us actually find, that fewer still get to hold on to forever.
Further, it is a film about spirituality, philosophy, and accepting that there is more to this whole gig than our limited brains might be willing to accept. Funny, sweet, and really touching, with one of Martin's unrecognized strong performances (Roxanne also comes to mind).
Supporting cast is also very good.
