Review of La Haine (1995) by Mikel K — 17 Mar 2010
Almost fifteen years after its initial release, La Haine has lost none of its power. An absolutely stunning film about the deprivation of Paris's inner cities/council estates and the ongoing war between the residents and the Police.
Vincent Cassel is brilliant (as I think he is in every film I've seen him in). Its just a shame that director Kassovitz has realised none of the early promise in his later films. I guess its true that Hollywood can corrupt nascent talent.
