As Alexander Payne (director of "Election," "About Schmidt," and "Sideways") says in the introduction, when first exposed to great art you don't always know what to make of it.
At the same time, I know I'll be watching this one again and again in the future. One of the ten best movies of all time, right up there with "The Godfather," "Citizen Kane," "Chinatown," and "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
