Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Kathleen D — 23 Jul 2009
It didn't floor me as much as I hoped it would, but it definitely is a film worth studying. I guess after watching 8 1/2, I expected this to be more of a visual and surrealistic experience, so in that aspect, I was a bit let down (just a bit).
Fellini made up for it with the story though, and by the end, the film redeemed itself. It's taking me a while to fully appreciate it, but something tells me I will revisit this in the future. One more thing, Marcello Mastrioanni.
..he's as slick as they come.
