Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Bill B — 09 Jan 2012
This has to be the first Fellini film that I had seen, and the one that I return to the most often, as it is just a delight from start to finish. I really enjoy Marcello Mastrioanni's somewhat detached, bemused journey through the entourages of various celebrity figures, drifting in and out of their circles while still reporting on them to earn his living.
And then there's the iconic imagery of Anita Ekberg frolicking in the Trevi Fountain. Sigh.
Recommended.
