Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Michael W — 25 Mar 2013
Beautifully shot and brilliant. It's, as Godard would say, more real than real life. And that makes it one of the saddest pictures I've seen, not just when tragedy strikes but the day to day life of a man who is fundamentally lazy and scared of commitment.
Neither joy nor tragedy strikes him hard and he never changes.
