Review of La Dolce Vita (1960) by Seán C — 24 Sep 2013
I find Fellini a very interesting and talented director, if a little indulgent, and LA DOLCE VITA, his most popular film, is a good example of those three qualities. The first hour was very entertaining, engrossing - the opening scene and iconic sequence with Anita Ekberg and the fountain is one of the most famous scenes in foreign cinema, and also one of my personal favorites; after that point, the amount of intrigue the film retained was rather off and on.
Star Marcello Mastroianni is extremely charismatic, sophisticated, and relatable, and the ensemble cast features a slew of other wonderful talents.
