Review of La Collectionneuse (1967) by Tyson S — 09 Jun 2007
A movie that perhaps would have been doomed to mediocrity under any other circumstances. However, Rohmer and Almendros's economy combined with the rare, understated talents of Haydee Politoff and Patrick Bauchau make this a formidable piece of the Moral Tales.
Although it may be the weakest of the feature length Moral Tales, the script, the exquisite cinematography, and the performances make this a wonderful, sometimes underrated pleasure.
