Review of Kwaidan (1965) by Chris W — 12 Jul 2007
All you J-horror fanatics need to take a step back and look to this and Jigoku for what started the genre. Kwaidan doesn't require creepy little girls whose face is shrouded by black hair to be terrifying for it possesses scares on all kinds of varying levels.
I'd consider rating it higher, but to do so I would need to see the full uncut version released by Masters of Cinema in the UK. I'll get to it sooner or later.
