Review of Kundun (1997) by Tony B — 27 Oct 2007
Kundun was one of the only Martin Scorsese pictures I hadn't gotten around to watching, and I'm extremely glad that I finally did. This film is a beautiful biopic about the life of the current Dalai Lama and it has some of the most exquisite cinematography I've seen in a long while.
For those interested in Buddhism or even just learning something about a culture other than your own, Kundun is an excellent choice, and I guarantee it's a better movie than probably 90% of the new releases down at your local video store, so do yourself the favour.
