Review of Kundun (1997) by Michele B — 11 Nov 2008
I'm interested in the life of the Dalai Lama, I'm interested in the plight of Tibetans, and I'm a fan of most of Scorsese's work.
The movie just didn't draw me in. The characters of the movie didnt' seem like real, 3 dimentional people, with warts and all. The movie seemed to romantize the Dalai Lama's life, and didn't get into too much of the real atrocities of Chinese "liberation" of Tibet.
The cinematography was gorgeous though.
