Review of Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) by Timothy J — 18 Dec 2009
Divorce comes to Hollywood. Hoffman and Streep have rarely been better and the story is simple, yet affecting. The appeal in the TV movie trend began here. It's remarkable how timeless Benton makes this film.
It was extremely smart to keep things minimal. The writing also went through dozens of revisions and it clearly shows - there's hardly an ounce of bullshit in this beautiful and emotionally moving film.
