Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by Brandon W — 07 Apr 2017
Fun movie that takes you on a ride of beautiful cinematography. The final fight in the movie had me a nervous wreck and on my toes. But...This movie followed a predictable pattern, and seemed like a repeat of all the other Kongs movies. In the mixture you have a monkey, and island, a psychotic military dude, a woman, a camera man, a funny man and another creature that baffles our knowledge of extinction and evolution which battles Kong. If this movies was the only Kong movie out there, I would give it a better score, but honestly, most everything in the movie was as easy to predict as a could be. Also, there were way too many characters this movie switched around on, making none of the characters truly special. There was really no character development and in the end, I felt like I really didn't know any of the characters.
So in summary, given the beautiful scenes in this movie, if they had made a few more unique scenes and centered on like 3 characters instead of 10, it would have been much better.
