Review of Kong: Skull Island (2017) by Htgamer — 04 Apr 2021
I haven't seen any of the old King Kong movies or Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong film, but Kong: Skull Island is easily the best movie in the so-called Monsterverse, the cinematic universe shared by King Kong and Godzilla.
As is usual for these movies, the human factor is much lesser compared with the kaiju part. But at least in this movie the humans make much more sense than the recent Godzilla films, and there are actually fun moments.
Also the kaiju fights are great. Kudos to Jordan Vogt-Roberts for directing this movie.
