Review of Knuckle (2011) by Darren C — 04 Sep 2011
A somewhat interesting expose. Ultimately it highlights the danger of pride in it's most primitive form.
All in all, it's probably not worth a watch. The fighting is pretty bad, the scope is very narrow, and there's not enough behind the scenes. The tragedy of dumb-dumb alpha males fighting for pride doesn't save the movie.
And I found it depressing. Simple people consumed with using violence to maintain their reputation. And the worst part is that their children seem bound to follow in their parents footsteps.
My main complaint is that we don't get much of a view into the daily lives of these gypsies. There seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes that the viewer is never privy to. The main character doesn't reveal very much. Instead, we get a lot pre-fight hype.
