I can understand why some people don't like this film. It is very a abstract, impressionist kind of film, more metaphorical than anything else. But what can I say, I'm a Terrence Malick devotee.
I love his style and his approach to filmmaking. This one might not be on par with The New World, The Thin Red Line, Tree of Life, or earlier works, but I find still found the visuals to be stunning, especially those within the mansions and nightclubs.
It also has an interesting sense of verite.
