Review of Kiss Me Deadly (1955) by John H — 18 Aug 2011
This acid noir is continually surprising and startling, as well as one of the darkest visions to emerge out of the noir tradition. Aldrich's Los Angeles is full of shadows and askew angles, and practically no one has a redeeming feature.
But with its plot involving murder, agents, and that glowing suitcase, everyone gets what's coming to them... and that apocalyptic finale does not reassure.
