Review of Kiss Me Deadly (1955) by Late R — 23 Nov 2017
Right off the bat, the camera angles and cinematography are very eye-catching and appealing. I could already tell from the beginning that it was going to be a good movie, I knew that the writing was going to be top notch.
The dialogue is quick and fluid. This movie has got a lot of style and it's the kind of style I love. Everything from the cinematography to the set pieces and decoration. You get to really see Los Angeles in the mid 50's, no big studio, just the real alive city.
It's got some really superb acting from a couple of no-name actors (for that time) that I found very intriguing to watch.
Never in my life have I ever seen a noir film like this. They bent all the rules to how to make a noir film and made it their own. The whole sci-fi twist in the movie really caught me off guard.
Overall, terrific movie with great twists and turns and pretty women too.
