Review of Kiss Me Deadly (1955) by Andrew D — 10 May 2013
Ralph Meeker stars as a private detective who is suddenly involved in a criminal affair with atomic secrets. This film can surely be considered one of the most influential thrillers of its time, and one that has been referenced in many films that followed it.
Kiss Me Deadly is a product of the Cold War era, and inspired by nuclear paranoia; its heavy backtones do not prevent it from also being entertaining but rather add an element of mystery and powerfully heightens the tension.
