Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Jerome K — 13 Feb 2017

I will give it one thing. It was stunning to look at. The CG is incredible. It really shows how gaming systems really aren't' as close to mimicking cut scenes as regular game play as we all thought we'd be at this point.

Niceties aside, this movie is a big old WTF. I wanted to see it because I'm still playing, and very much enjoying, FFV(Just finished chapter 13. relief!!!). As bad as the movie is, it still fills in some gaps in the story, so is worth seeing for those playing the game.

We get very little explanation for anything. How are these random people able to tap into the kings power? No explanation.

And then the story itself is so cliche and ridiculous.

Why do they keep calling each other hero? It's just bad writing.

It's not a good movie. I wouldn't blame anyone, even gamers, for avoiding it like the plague.
