Review of King Kong (1933) by Andrew G — 22 Sep 2009
King Kong has been remade too many times, and only one was decent at best. This is horrible, as the original King Kong deserves much more than what it gets. People have criticised the special effects in recent years, but I must point out that this is 1933, and it still looks absolutely marvelous.
King Kong is very loveable, the story is fantastic and the cast do their jobs superbly. Kong himself is only really Kong when he is animated like he is in this film, Stop Motion. King Kong is without a doubt one of the most timeless classic ever made, and after more than 70 years since its release, it really says something if it is one of the best films I have ever had the pleasure to see.
