Review of King Kong (1933) by Christopher B — 09 Nov 2013
In and of itself, From a contemporary point of view, King Kong isn't a great movie. The plot is kind of silly, and the movie is really more about (bad) special effects than story. But does that review sound familiar? This is the grand-daddy of the big budget, big screen spectaculars, a movie that tells the same basic story that audiences have been lining up to see for generations.
Without King Kong, there would be no Jurassic Park, that's for sure. This film's impact on the history of cinema is incalculable.
