Review of King Kong (1933) by Shah B — 09 Feb 2012
A timely classic that, despite several remakes, still demands attention. I'm personally quite enamored with stop motion animation, so any scene where Kong fights dinosaurs is captivating to me. The story itself has been analyzed to pieces, but no matter what direction one goes in the hook revolves around a savage beast that is taken out of its natural habitat and eventually finds its doom in the modern world.
The monster elicits more sympathy than anyone in the human cast, and that's a sign that the filmmakers did their job properly.
