Review of King Kong (1933) by Stan D — 22 Nov 2014
Robert Armstrong plays a showman who travels to a remote island to trap a giant.
Gorilla and bring it back to the New York stage. Fay Wray plays the imperiled blonde beauty that the beast is attracted to. Great special effects, great music, and an entertaining melodrama. The musical score, by the great Max Steiner, is said by some to be groundbreaking, in that it elevated the importance of the music in talking motion pictures. The film ends with one of the great closing lines.
