Review of Killer Elite (2011) by Lisa E — 17 Mar 2012

Finally! A first class action movie actually worth watching! Certainly helps to have Statham, Owen, and De Niro involved (De Niro is in a supporting role, which helps make this far more believable). There's a few fantastic fights between Statham and Owen which have taken their cue from the Bourne style, but still feel fresh and enjoyable.

The characters are interesting enough for me to care, the locales harsh and gritty, but the action always believable and never over the top. I've been waiting for a solid action film a while, and this delivered.

Considering what it is, and this was a first time director, I rather enjoyed it, and am 90% sure I'd sit down and watch this again.
